Kazahstan;

Kazakhstan is located in Central Asia. The Republic of Kazakhstan is a unitary state with presidential form of government. It is a democratic, secular, lawful and social state whose highest value are people, their lives, rights and freedoms.

Area: 2,724.9 sq. km (1,049,150 square miles)

Length of the republic borders: total 12187 km, including Russian Federation border - 6467 km; Republic of Uzbekistan - 2300 km; Turkmenistan - 380 km; Kyrgyz Republic - 980 km; China - 1460 km and the Caspian Sea coast line - 600 km

The highest mountain peak is Khan Tengri (Mt. Saryzhaz) - 6995 m

Biggest lakes: Caspian Sea - 374 thousand sq. km; Aral Sea - 46.64 thousand sq. km; and Lake Balkhash - 18.2 thousand sq. km

Biggest region (oblast): Karagandy - 428 thousand sq. km

Biggest city: Almaty, population - 1,139,900 people

Population: 15,394, 600 people (official data as of 1st January 2007). Kazakhstan’s population is represented by more than one hundred ethnic groups differing in language and culture, but closely interrelated by their history. The largest ethnic groups are Kazakhs and Russians. The main religions are Islam and Christianity.

People of Kazakhstan are highly educated. There are many high schools and educational institutions.
