The Education Show, which is the UAE's most comprehensive and premier education platform for higher studies, primarily aims at throwing open a window of opportunities for UAE-based students wishing to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational courses in some of the leading educational institutes, both foreign as well as UAE-based.

The fourth edition of the Education Show will be held at Expo Centre Sharjah from October 4to 6 2009. Following on the footsteps of the previous editions, the event will once again provide participating educational institutions the chance to directly connect with a large number of fresh school leavers, undergraduates, working professionals and executives, and others who wish to pursue higher education, both within the country and abroad. It will also provide ample scope to the participants, particularly the foreign-based educational institutions, to effectively network and utilize the event as a platform for appointing local partners and agents.

The Education Show is a joint initiative of the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Expo Centre Sharjah and is supported by the National Human Resource Development, Employment Authority (TANMIA) and Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).

The 2008 edition of the Education Show occupied a total of 4,000 sq. m. and hosted more than 70 UAE-based and foreign institutions of higher education that offered a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and other higher study.

The Ministry of Education will organise groups visit from U.A.E high schools.

The event provides an excellent opportunity to enroll high school leavers, undergraduates and executives for higher education .

The UAE Education sector: Poised for major growth :

The UAE has always recognised that quality education is key to overall social and economic development. It is precisely because of this reason that the Government has been consistently increasing its budget allocation for the education sector every year.

The 2009 UAE federal budget, with an outlay of Dh 34.9 illion, allocated close to 30% towards education, reiterating the country¹s commitment towards shapinga knowledge-based society.

The UAE education sector, particularly the area of higher education, has of late been experiencing rapid expansion. This may be attributed to several factors including rise in student in-take in public schools, fall in drop-out rates, government¹s strong emiratisation drive, and the country¹s growing expatriate population.

Every year, more than 10,000 pupils graduate from UAE schools. A large number of them pursue higher education, either in the UAE or overseas.
