The Higher Education Fair was founded in 1997 upon popular and social demand, and as the name of the fair indicates it is oriented to the secondary school students and the future secondary school graduates, respectively to those who are looking for information on further study at home and abroad. The older students can also find relevant information since the higher education system gives possibilities to study at various higher education institutions simultaneously, or to study and focus on a scientific career. The AKADÉMIA® Fair will take place within 3 days in the exhibition rooms of Bratislava SIBAMAC aréna NTC in the capital of the Slovak Republic, Bratislava. In their stands the exhibitors offer their activities in the form of personal consultations and provide information and promotion materials. At the same time lectures and seminars are held in separate lecture halls for professional workers. This year the key topic will be "Possibilities to study and work in EU conditions". The seminars enable the exhibitors to present their activities in a predetermined time in seminar rooms.
The fair is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic.
The aim of this fair is to provide information regarding opportunities at home and abroad available to secondary school students and graduates.
Exhibitors inform the visitors on:possibilities of study at Slovak universities possibilities of study at universities abroad offer of further education courses working positions and job opportunities au pair stays casual jobs abroad language courses
Each year this education fair welcomes about 8,000 - 10,000 visitors looking at opportunities available to them from participating exhibitors.

This year the 4 day student exhibition will take place for the 12th time in the Slovak Republic's capital, Bratislava. The exhibition provides exhibitors with the opportunity to present themselves to high-calliber students, network among representatives at the event, as well as participate during the many lectures and seminars given during the 4 days.
The education fair will provide a number of opportunities for networking and building relationships between exhibitors and key influencers and support the aspiration of visitors looking for education opportunities.
In 2007 an estimated 12,000 students attended the exhibition keen to further their studies and improve their work propects.
