The Turkish Market:
According to the most recent census, 26% of the Turkish population is under age 15, and more than 60% is under 35 years of age. This large, young population in a country of 70 million people cannot be accommodated by its own post-secondary system; therefore, more than ever, students and their families are looking for alternatives.
Receiving an education is of great importance to Turkish citizens. Every year, over 25,000 Turkish students study overseas in language, college, university and vocational programmes, and they need solid information in order to choose where and when to study, as well as what is required to make their experience abroad as effective and enjoyable as possible.
As a key source of information, students and their families attend the event. Since over 70% of the population now lives in large urban centres, the event takes place in the three largest cities: Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, each with its own, unique profile.
Fall Study Abroad Fair 2009
This is our new event, an exclusively international education fair. Venues in all three cities are popular and easily-accessible.
We are well-known for bringing in younger students – prospective undergraduates – as well as the important 18-24 age group. We do this through our special relationship with the Turkish National Ministry of Education, whose invitation to schools around the region enables us to bring in students in the last two years of their studies in the top high schools, and our comprehensive advertising campaign at university campuses and student hotspots ensures we reach the graduate prospective group as well.
We envision you who are keen on breaking into or fostering your presence in the Turkish market. It is our intention to build a relationship with you and provide you with the best possible platform from which your colleagues can reach the Turkish youth interested in studying abroad.
The Synergy Exhibitors may be represented by whomever they choose; that is, school representatives are free to invite local agents of their choice to assist at their booths. This gives you the opportunity to get to know your agents better, train their staff on your programs and ensure immediate follow-up by a local professional on the leads you get during the exhibitions. Or, if you don’t work with agents, invite alumni or ask us to hire a translator to assist at your booth.

Feedback from Exhibitors:
ISN
On behalf of American Education Expos, I would like to thank you for hosting us at what I believed was quite a fantastic Event. The visiting universities would also like to express their gratitude. We appreciate you taking time from you busy schedule to really help us out with requests and making our trip to Istanbul quite enjoyable. Your professionalism and dedication was outstanding and much appreciated. By visiting your great country and meeting with its’ people, we established the “cultural connection” we and the universities sought to make.

We were very pleased with the fair since it was a very well organized and well prepared fair. There were many potential students interested in studying abroad. We are very proud to say that the number of applicants from Turkey increased after our participation in this fair. The Education fair provided new opportunities to BTH to reach the applicants from Turkey. We look forward to join you the next year as well and promote our programmes on the Turkish market. Thank you so much for all help during our stay in Istanbul and many thanks for the lovely dinner with the genuine Turkish atmosphere. It was appreciated :-)

It was one of the most well-attended, most professional fairs I have ever attended. I was very impressed with all their organization and preparation in anticipation of the event as well as the quality and number of students who came seeking information. They made my first trip to Turkey very worthwhile.

This was only our first time participating, but we were very happy with the opportunity to meet so many high school students in person and quite impressed with their level of English. Although Mother Nature decided to play havoc with the weather and affected the quantity of visitors, we were especially pleased with the quality of the students. Working with the staff was greatly appreciated and as result, we have already recruited several Turkish students for our Canadian high schools!

I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed the Education Fair. We were impressed with the professionalism of the staff and appreciated being given such a great stand location.
The contacts that we made were better than expected. Considering the inclement weather, we were delighted with the huge turnout. We were also pleased to meet school officials and parents, and were delighted to talk face-to-face with local students.
The welcome meal and entertainment was superb. But what we took home was the memory of the warmth and genuine hospitality of the Turkish people. We are seriously considering returning in 2009.

This was my first trip to Turkey and the Fair met my expectations. The organization of the fair was very good. Organizers were excellent in their pre-fair communication and extremely helpful and gracious in making arrangements.
